Veneers in Lubbock, TX

What are veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells placed on the front of the teeth to improve their appearance. We can correct issues such as stained, uneven, or chipped teeth with veneers. They can also close gaps in the teeth and smooth the surface of pitted teeth. Although dental veneers can be made of several materials, we use the finest material at Willow Dentistry – porcelain veneers.

The Advantages of Porcelain Veneers:

  • Virtually undetectable
  • Highly resistant to staining
  • Resembles natural tooth enamel
  • Porcelain does not irritate the gums
  • Porcelain teeth veneers are low-maintenance
  • Long-lasting and durable

Getting Veneers: What to Expect

Porcelain veneers require two or three visits to Willow Dentistry for a custom fit. We will evaluate your teeth at your first visit and discuss your aesthetic goals. A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of the teeth, and an impression is taken of the teeth to create molds for the veneers.

Our dental lab creates your veneers based on the impressions, which takes 1-2 weeks. Temporary veneers can be worn during this time to protect your teeth. Once the permanent veneers are ready, you return to our office for the final placement. We check the fit and appearance of the shells and make any minor adjustments needed. Once the veneers meet our standards and your expectations, we permanently bond them to your teeth.

Will dental veneers look like normal teeth?

When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

Teeth Veneers Frequently Asked Questions

How durable are porcelain veneers?

With proper care, porcelain veneers will brighten your smile for well over a decade. Dr. Cala will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and bonded with the most advanced and proven materials.

Refraining from using your veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life. If accidental breakage or damage occurs, replacing only the veneer involved is usually possible.

How long do teeth veneers last?

It depends on the materials used. Resin composite veneers last about five years. We prefer porcelain veneers at Willow Dental, which can last 10-15 years.

What happens to teeth under veneers?

Teeth veneers are fixed to the front of the teeth using dental bonding cement that ensures an airtight fit. Although a thin layer of enamel is removed from the front of the teeth before the veneers are attached, it does not damage the teeth because the bonding material and the veneers themselves protect them. With daily flossing and brushing, your teeth will remain healthy.

Can you eat with veneers?

Absolutely! You don’t have to worry about staining your teeth when you have porcelain veneers, which are highly resistant to staining from coffee, tea, smoking, and foods that may discolor natural teeth. We suggest avoiding biting into hard foods like raw carrots or apples with veneers on your front teeth to prevent cracking the ceramic.

We recommend avoiding tough or chewy foods while wearing temporary veneers and waiting for the permanent ones. Soft foods such as mashed potatoes and chicken are best until your permanent veneers are placed.

Are porcelain veneers worth it?

Yes, particularly if your teeth are damaged or weakened due to injury or tooth decay. Porcelain teeth veneers protect the surface of the teeth from damage and add an additional barrier between the teeth and any irritants. Perhaps most importantly, veneers give you a beautiful, sparkling smile that will boost your confidence.

If you are interested in a long-term, minimally invasive way to improve the look of your teeth, porcelain veneers may be the solution. To schedule a consultation with Dr. Cala to discuss dental veneers, please get in touch with our office at 82nd Street Office Phone Number 806-798-2996.
