Meet Dr. Cala, Dentist In Southwest Lubbock TX

Dr. Jean Cala-Henry was born and raised in an agricultural province of the Philippines before moving to West Texas in 2013. She attended the University of the Philippines Manila College of Dentistry prior to moving to the United States. When she arrived in Pecos, her family was met with hospitality and kindness. Since then, she knew she wanted to come back to West Texas after graduating to serve her community. Dr. Cala graduated Summa Cum Laude with three associate degrees from Odessa College and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas-Permian Basin. Graduating from Texas A&M College of Dentistry with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS), Dr. Cala has helped many in Lubbock have a healthy and confident smile.

Dr. Cala’s patients like her calm and gentle nature. She can help those with dental anxiety relax and feel more comfortable. She loves seeing her patients smile while bringing them to optimal oral health. Dr. Cala is also bilingual – she speaks English and Tagalog.

Outside of her professional life, she spends her free time gardening, traveling, sewing, and building miniature house models. Dr. Cala, along with her husband, is actively involved in RISE V, a volunteer community organization focused on contributing to a variety of projects within the community. She enjoys working with others and has volunteered with local organizations such as food banks, rescue centers, churches, elementary schools, and animal shelters.
